Nos dias 08 a 12/03, esteve em Nova Xavantina o zootecnista Bruno, do Consórcio de desenvolvimento do médio Araguaia – CODEMA, que é responsável pelo trabalho técnico voltado para área de piscicultura, abrangente aos 09 municípios pertencentes ao Consórcio.
O trabalho técnico desenvolvido foi, realizar a avaliação e demarcação do local para construção dos tanques escavados, prestar a assistência nos tanques já instalados, bem como: Verificar a dimensão dos tanques, prescrever os manejos necessários para o peixamento, espécies a ser alojada, qualidade de água e frequência alimentar dos peixes.

Esse trabalho é uma parceria da Prefeitura Municipal com CODEMA e visa beneficiar os pequenos produtores da Agricultura Familiar.
