O governador Mauro Mendes (DEM) acaba de sofrer uma derrota histórica na Assembleia. O projeto de Lei que previa a antecipação de cinco feriados como medida para conter a disseminação da Covid-19 acaba de ser reprovado e vai para arquivo. Somente o deputado estadual Lúdio Cabral (PT), que é da oposição, votou favorável à proposta do Executivo.
O projeto de Lei, entregue pessoalmente por Mauro na manhã desta terça (23), já havia recebido parecer contrário da Comissão de Trabalho e Administração Pública. Por quase unanimidade, os parlamentares acolheram a recomendação, o que determinou o fim da tramitação da matéria.
A antecipação dos feriados deveria iniciar na próxima sexta (26). As datas que sofreriam mudanças são Corpus Cristhi, Dia do Trabalhador, Dia da Consciência Negra, Dia do Servidor Público e aniversário de cada município.

Mato Grosso registrou um novo recorde de mortes em decorrência da Covid-19 (a doença causada pelo coronavírus) em um período de 24 horas. Foram 125 vítimas fatais de um dia para outro, segundo dados da Secretaria de Estado de Saúde (SES). No total, 6,9 mil pessoas já morreram em decorrência da doença. Os dados foram divulgados em boletim no final da tarde desta segunda (22).
